Ages 3 - 6 years (includes
Kindergarten)..........................
Primary classes cultivate the 3 through 6 year old
child’s natural desire and ability to learn. These “learning communities”
emphasize cooperation and peaceful conflict resolution. They help children
grow in confidence and competence, engaged in exciting hands-on activities
designed to develop their powers of observation, physical coordination,
concentration, and organization. They will “grow into” the core academic
subjects of language arts, mathematics, science, and geography. A 12 to 1
student/teacher ratio in Primary allows the teacher to rely on her close
observations of each student’s progress to determine which new materials may
be introduced.
Kindergartners attend full day sessions each day, with
“specials” classes in music, art, physical education, and foreign language
given in the afternoon. Options for 3 and 4 year-olds include morning and
full day classes, either 3 or 5 days per week. |
