The 2010 - 2011 school year is back in full swing with students busily becoming familiar with classroom procedures and activities. New teachers Rebecca Williams and Crystal Kane, Toddler B, Becky Scavone, Toddler A, and Genny Lehane, Primary C, have done a great job in their new environments. Specialist Lauren Seelye, Physical Education, Joseph Baranowski, Music, Sara Scharrer, Library, and Liz Revit, Art, have each of their programs up and running with the children enjoying their time in each. Back to School Night was a great success as a large number of parents filled the Great Room to meet the staff and be apprised of events for the year and then visited their child’s classroom for information on their child’s classroom procedures, activities and curriculum. Students as a community project collected items for the local chapter of the S.P.C.A. in Plains Township. Mr. Vince Sweeney, Center Director, visited the school and was presented with a check and a large number of needed goods by the children. The Upper Elementary classroom was informed that two of their students Ariana Notartimaso and Kaelin Kirchner were winners in the Pages and Places Poetry contest, co-sponsored by the Lackawanna County Library System and the Northeaster Educaational Intermediate Unit Poet and Writers Association. Congratulations on the Great work by both students!
